01. The preparation of synthetic peptide antiserum for immunochemical diagnosis of prion diseases

Japanese

Immune serum was raised in rabbit to the peptide, representing amino acid sequence 2l3-226 of mouse prion protein (PrP) and synthesized using a multiple antigenic peptide (MAP) system. Ab.213-226 reacted strongly with PrPsc of sheep, Syrian hamster and mouse. Furthermore, it could be useful in the immune diagnosis of BSE as well as scrapie.
